Founder and CEO

Alex Esson

Alex is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PCA. Alex is active across all of PCA’s business lines, advising clients across Asia Pacific on licensing, regulatory, and compliance matters. Alex works with a variety of clients ranging from large global financial institutions to start-up companies in the region. Alex is based in Hong Kong, but travels regularly to Singapore and Europe. Alex is a frequent representative and attendee at industry events and seminars and has been a speaker on numerous compliance and regulatory panels.

Prior to PCA, Alex worked at one of the largest compliance consulting firms in Asia where he held senior management positions across several business divisions, being responsible for leading teams of up to 25 staff and providing compliance-related services to over 230 financial institutions. Alex has personally been responsible for providing compliance advisory and licensing-related services to over 300 companies who are licensed with the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong and the Monetary Authority of Singapore in Singapore.

Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Computing and Management from Loughborough University, England.

Senior Compliance Consultant

Dona Samaranayake

Dona is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Dona is responsible for providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong and the MAS in Singapore. Dona is involved in providing online compliance training to clients. Dona is also responsible for leading PCA’s marketing initiatives.

Dona has over 3 years of experience working in actuarial consulting, FinTech, AML, and research roles in Hong Kong and Brunei.

Prior to PCA, Dona worked within AML and as a Blockchain Security Business Analyst for Genesis Block and Crypto.com respectively. Dona started her career working as an Actuarial Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Manulife.

Dona has a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Actuarial Science, a Master’s degree in Economics, and another in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics).

Dona is fluent in English and Sinhala, with limited working proficiency in Malay.

Senior Compliance Consultant

Melody Wang

Melody Wang is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Melody is responsible for handling SFC licensing applications for clients and providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining PCA, Melody had internships at Roland Berger, GLG Group, KPMG, and China CITIC Bank within risk management, research, and advisory-related positions.

Melody has a Master’s degree in Global Management from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor degree in Finance from the Renmin University of China.

Melody’s native language is Mandarin, and she is fluent in English with conversational competencies in French.

Compliance Consultant

Pamela Yang

Pamela Yang is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Pamela is responsible for handling SFC and MAS licensing applications for clients and providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong and the MAS in Singapore.

Prior to joining PCA, Pamela had internships at BYD, a multinational corporation in Mainland China, as well as several law firms in Hong Kong, where she gained experience in legal research, legal due diligence and compliance advisory.

Pamela has an LL.B. degree from Xiamen University, a Bar licence from Mainland China, and a Master degree in Common Law from the University of Hong Kong.

Pamela’s native language is Mandarin, and she is fluent in English with conversational competencies in Cantonese.

Maddie Yao

Maddie Yao is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Maddie is responsible for handling SFC licensing applications for clients and providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining PCA, Maddie had an internship at Fresenius Medical Care, a world’s leading healthcare company, where she gained experience in healthcare compliance. From two internships in law firms, Maddie gained experience in legal document drafting, legal research, legal diligence, and compliance advisory.

Maddie has an LL.B. degree from Fudan University and an LL.M. degree from the University of Hong Kong.

Maddie is native in Mandarin and Shanghainese, and she is fluent in English with conversational competencies in Cantonese.

Compliance Consultant

Emin Arduc

Emin Arduc is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Emin is responsible for handling SFC licensing applications for clients and providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining PCA, Emin had internships in the legal and compliance department of a hedge fund and an asset management firm, where he gained valuable insights about the compliance requirements of financial firms.

Emin has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Emin is native in Turkish, and fluent in English with conversational competencies in Cantonese.

Lynn Liu

Lynn Liu is a Compliance Consultant of PCA. Lynn is responsible for handling SFC licensing applications for clients and providing compliance advisory and support services to financial institutions regulated by the SFC in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining PCA, Lynn interned at Micro Connect Group, an innovative fintech company in Hong Kong, as well as at several law firms in Mainland China. Through these experiences, she developed solid expertise across capital markets, dispute resolution, and legal & compliance.

Lynn has an LL.B. degree from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and an LL.M. degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Lynn is a native Mandarin speaker and she is also fluent in English.

Marketing Intern

Jade Tang

Jade Tang is a Marketing Intern at PCA, where she is responsible for executing marketing initiatives, implementing PCA’s marketing plans, and monitoring SEO performance.

Prior to joining PCA, Jade gained valuable experience in data analytics and marketing through academic coursework and extracurricular activities. By integrating both disciplines, she developed strong skills in applying data analytics to content creation and marketing strategies.

Jade is currently pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Business Intelligence at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

She is a native speaker of Cantonese and English, and is also fluent in Mandarin.
